On Wednesday morning, Donald Trump took to Twitter to lash out at Sen. John McCain’s widow for endorsing his rival Joe Biden, and his attack didn’t work since Cindy McCain just shrugged it off. Trump tweeted that Cindy McCain “can have Sleepy Joe,” who the president described as the late Senator John McCain’s “lapdog” following her endorsement. On Twitter, Ms. McCain called Biden the “one candidate in this race who stands up for our values as a nation” and said he is “a good and honest man” who “will lead us with dignity.” That was too much for Trump to handle, so he bashed the late Republican Senator and his widow like a petulant child.

“I hardly know Cindy McCain other than having put her on a Committee at her husband’s request,’ Trump tweeted. “Joe Biden was John McCain’s lapdog. So many BAD decisions on Endless Wars & the V.A., which I brought from a horror show to HIGH APPROVAL.”

Trump’s mean-girl tweet came as Mrs. McCain made the rounds of the morning TV shows to tout her endorsement for Biden, which, although it was expected really, it was also a blow to the president’s re-election bid.

Cindy McCain was asked by ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ host George Stephanopoulos to respond to Trump’s tweet.

“I don’t have any,” she said.

She told CBS News that she was not concerned about any repercussions from the president, who is known for lashing out and attacking people that he sees as his political enemies.

“No, not at all,” Cindy McCain told CBS’ ‘This Morning.’ “I’m doing what I think is right.”

She said on NBC’s ‘Today Show’ on Wednesday morning that she was “deeply concerned” about the country.

“Joe Biden represents to me the kinds of values and integrity and courage that we want in a president,” she said.

And on Tuesday, she tweeted out three messages to explain her endorsement, and left us with this:

Ever since John McCain refused to obliterate Obamacare, Trump has been lashing out at him even after his death. If not for McCain giving the thumbs down to repeal the ACA, this country would be in even a worse position amid the raging pandemic.
