Trump Had Some Thoughts On God: “I Don’t Like To Ask For Forgiveness”

Donald Trump has long tried to convince the public that he’s a God-fearing man. He’s constantly peddling claims such as he “brought Christmas back” and he attempts to make Christians believe that they were being persecuted until he came around and saved them all — which actually just translates into letting them all display their hatred and bigotry publicly and proudly again.

But to all of those that are buying into Trump’s claims of a Godly lifestyle, you may want to take a look at what he had to say regarding asking ol’ sky daddy for forgiveness of his sins.

Spoiler alert — he doesn’t.

Looking back on an interview from 2016, Donald evidently doesn’t believe that he should have to ask God for forgiveness of his sins, and he doesn’t regret that in the slightest.

Trump was asked in an interview with Republican pollster and focus-group guru Frank Luntz about his stance on asking God for forgiveness and he explained that when he does something wrong, he just tries to keep God out of it.

“I am not sure I have,” Trump said in response to whether or not he’s ever implored tolerance of his spiritual deity. “I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think so. I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”

But after that interview, Trump doubled-down on his feelings about absolution from God in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, this time claiming that he simply doesn’t have much to ask for forgiveness for.

“I have a great relationship with God. I have a great relationship with the Evangelicals,” Trump stated. “I like to be good. I don’t like to have to ask for forgiveness. And I am good. I don’t do a lot of things that are bad. I try to do nothing that is bad.”

Trump’s answer was in response to a question from Tapper regarding the suspicion that Ted Cruz had conducted a telephone survey on the then-Republican candidate regarding his religious convictions.

“He shouldn’t be doing that,” Trump said of Cruz’s campaign questions. “Very unethical.”

If Donald wants to play the religion card so heavily, could someone please get him a bible? Because not only is there some business in there on forgiveness, but he should read the part on adultery while he’s at it.
