Trump Hosts Washington Nationals At White House, Makes It About Himself

Everyone pay attention to Trump!!!

Donald Trump recently attended Game 5 of the World Series and honestly, it didn’t turn out all that great for him. He slipped in late, through the back with an entourage of the crappiest folks he could put together (most likely to avoid the scorn he knew he’d face) and still ended up leaving early after he was met with rambunctious boos and ironic chants of “Lock him up!” from the crowd the moment his arrival was announced.

But Donnie’s less than warm welcome he received from the fans at the game didn’t stop him from inviting the winners of the World Series to the White House for a celebration.

Now, while I’ve yet to see any reports of Trump serving the Washington Nationals a spread of lukewarm fast food, he certainly did take what was meant to be a celebration of their victory and turn it into a manic, hairbrained ordeal all about himself. Because this is Donald Trump we’re talking about here. What else would you expect?

While addressing the crowd at the gathering Trump stated, “America fell in love with Nats baseball. They just fell in love with Nats baseball. That’s all they wanted to talk about.”

Now… That would’ve been a halfway nice thing to say, right? It’s not perfect. But we would’ve considered it a win had he just stopped right there. But, of course, he didn’t.

“That and impeachment. I like Nats baseball much more,” he just had to add.

Because God forbid the focus be on anything other than himself.

But don’t worry. He did show a little love for Washington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki after calling him to the podium, only to see that he was wearing a big, red KKK… I mean MAGA hat — which prompted a rather awkward hug from behind from POTUS.

But hey, he’s famous. They let you do it.
