Without a doubt, Donald Trump’s presidency will go down as one of the lowest points in modern history. Trump has done away with pretty much all protocol and presidential behavior, setting expectations for America lower than they’ve ever been.
It’s bad enough that the President of the United States now uses a Twitter account to do most of his announcements, but there have been so many other breakdowns in professional behavior — and he just made another one! Earlier today, Trump held a press conference from his Mar-a-Lago resort. While this press conference wasn’t much different from the others in content — meaning, Trump rambled and made absolutely no sense as usual — the setting of the press conference threw everyone off.
Trump was literally holding this conference while he was relaxing on one of his couches.
This press conference was actually supposed to be about Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon moving on to work at a pro-Trump super PAC, but it went off topic as usual. Hitting back at his enemies and repeating much of the same tired content he used at his campaign rally in Michigan was nothing new for the president. However, will press conferences from the couch be the new standard in this presidency? Many Americans were of course appalled:

Honestly, what more could we expect from a man who honors high performing champion athletes at the White House with fast food from his favorite restaurants? Trump has done away with any of the elegance and prestige that our former presidents have upheld throughout history.
