Democrats passed the largest expansion of the social safety net in decades, a $1.75 trillion bill that funds universal pre-K, Medicare expansion, renewable energy credits, affordable housing, a year of expanded Child Tax Credits, and major Obamacare subsidies. I said Democrats because not one Republican voted in favor of the bill that helps regular Americans instead of the wealthy. CNBC has a list of what is in the current version of the bill, including lowering the cost of insulin. It’s a good bill, so of course, former President Donald Trump doesn’t like it, probably, though, because Biden’s Build Back Better Act is moving forward to the Senate.
Trump tore into Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in a statement tweeted out by his spokesperson Liz Harrington to circumvent his ban on the behemoth social site after inciting the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection. The twice-impeached one-term president then called the debt ceiling the “Trump Card” and added, “If they don’t drop this horrendous, Communistic style Bill that will be ruinous to all we stand for as a Country, we should not approve a Debt Ceiling increase.”

And now Trump is saying this:
NEW!

This is true:
The BBB’s cost of $367B will be offset by $480B in revenues from tax enforcement (per Treasury), resulting in a net deficit REDUCTION of $113B.
Yet Republicans won’t vote for this bill, even though they voted for the 2017 tax cut that the CBO said would ADD $1.4T to the deficit.

Trump called on McConnell, who he called “an old broken crow,” to hold the debt ceiling hostage “or resign!” The former president is upset that President Biden is getting shit done. He’s just a selfish old narcissist.
