Former President Donald Trump predictably reacted to the news that the court wrote in a 33-page decision that his former attorney Rudy Giuliani’s conduct threatened “the public interest and warrants interim suspension from the practice of law.” Basically, they found that Giuliani knowingly lied to the courts, which is a big no-no for an attorney.
“We conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump’s failed effort at reelection in 2020,” the decision read.
That didn’t sit well with the twice-impeached one-term president who lashed out in a statement, saying, “Can you believe that New York wants to strip Rudy Giuliani, a great American Patriot, of his law license because he has been fighting what has already been proven to be a Fraudulent Election?”
First of all, Giuliani is not a patriot, and Trump once again claimed without evidence that the election was stolen from him.
Trump went on to call Giuliani the “Eliot Ness of his generation” and said, “it’s nothing but a Witch Hunt and they should be ashamed of themselves,” and added, “TAKE BACK AMERICA!”
