Trump Just Said During Economic Event That Ivanka Has “Created 14 Million Jobs,” But Multiple Sources Say That’s Not True

Is he just allergic to the truth, or what?

Donald Trump delivered remarks today at the Economic Club of New York and frankly, the whole thing was just as bad as you’d expect from your typical Trump speech. He mumbled and slurred, complained about the audience not clapping for him, longed for world domination, and overall just made shit weird. Like always.

But during the course of that dumpster fire of an address, Donnie just couldn’t miss a chance at bragging on his most favorite princess, Ivanka. The thing is, the woman ain’t actually done much to brag about. So evidently, that leaves Trump just pulling nonsense out of his ass to make his favorite daughter sound good.

During his speech, Donald took a moment to boast on the jobs that have supposedly been created in America by his eldest daughter.

“I’m very proud of her, my daughter Ivanka. That’s all she wants to talk about,” Trump explained. “I say, ‘Ivanka, can we please talk about something else?’ ‘No, dad. I met today with WalMart. They’re taking a million people… She wants to make these people have great lives.”

“And when she started this two and a half years ago her goal was 500 thousand jobs,” Trump continued. “She’s now created 14 million jobs.”

“Fourteen million and going up,” he declared as he continued his brag.

There are a whole lot of issues with Donnie’s little advertisement of his daughter, with the fact that she has no business in a government position being one of them. But the biggest issue? It’s a damn lie.

Several different sources have already debunked Trump’s claims — Ivanka hasn’t created anywhere near the 14 million jobs her daddy is trying to claim she has.

Donald signed an order to create the National Council for the American Worker last year, which was co-chaired by his daughter Ivanka. That council has since garnered signatures from approximately 200 different companies to their “Pledge To American Workers” — a pledge that involves “committing to expand programs that educate, train, and reskill American workers from high-school age to near-retirement.”

Not only do these signatures only being the number of job opportunities to just above 6.5 million, but they’re also just that — opportunities. These are in no way actual jobs that are being held by actual people.

CNN’s fact-checkers stated, “It’s simply not true that Ivanka Trump has ‘created millions of jobs,’ as her father claimed.”

The Washington Post also weighed in with their own fact check which mirrors that of CNN’s, with WaPo‘s JM Rieger stating, “Through August 2019, ~5.5 million jobs have been created during Trump’s presidency.”

Does the dude really not understand that he is GOING to get caught? It’s not a matter of if. It’s when.
