Donald Trump built his entire 2016 presidential campaign on the promise of a wall at our southern border meant to keep the Mexicans out and the Americans in. He seems to have switched gears for his 2020 reelection campaign, this time appealing to his base through his blatant racism with chants and rhetoric of “send them back” after he ignited an all-out racism-fueled war with four Congresswomen of color.
And according to new reports, Donald is most likely switching election gears for the impending race because he’s fallen hilariously and humiliatingly short on his first promise.
Donald has touted the claim that “hundreds” of miles of the border wall would be built by his administration this year, yet lo and behold, he has absolutely nothing to show for it.
The conservative Washington Examiner reported, “The Trump administration has not installed a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the U.S.-Mexico border in the 30 months since President Trump assumed office.”

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency went on to confirm the Examiner’s report, stating that all fencing that has been completed has not been new construction for the wall but “in place of dilapidated designs.”
According to CBD, 51 miles of fencing has been placed, but all of it has been a replacement for an existing barrier structure rather than new construction of the “wall.”
Trump stated in May of this year, “We’re going to have over 400 miles of wall built, much of it is already started, by the end of next year.”
Even though Donald has continuously fallen short on his promise, much like the rest of his presidency, he has continued to embark on tax-payer funded trips to the border, including an excursion back in April where he visiting a plaque commemorating him for building “new” portions of the wall, which, funnily enough, were refurbished portions as well.
Trump isn’t building the wall any more than Mexico is paying for it. At this point, he is just distracting his base from his failures by giving them a free for all to be racist dickbags in public because the president does it.
