Michelle Obama largely ignores Donald Trump, but on Monday marking the first night of the Democratic National Convention speeches, the former First Lady launched a stinging attack on the president while making an emotional endorsement for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. And while Mrs. Obama gave her speech, the former first lady was wearing a gold necklace with the letters “vote” across it. Mrs. Obama spoke with empathy, while Trump seems to lack empathy as Americans struggle through several national crises.
In her eighteen-minute address, she asked the audience to “close out the noise and the fear” and open their hearts. Those who do that, she said, “know that what’s going on in this country is just not right.”
Donald Trump lashed out at the former First Lady on Tuesday morning and even tagged Mrs. Obama in a series of tweets — as if she would want to get into a Twitter slap fight with President Circus Peanut. And, of course, his tweets are littered with lies.
Somebody please explain to @MichelleObama that Donald J. Trump would not be here, in the beautiful White House, if it weren’t for the job done by your husband, Barack Obama. Biden was merely an afterthought, a good reason for that very late & unenthusiastic endorsement…..
