Donald Trump isn’t one to let go or to admit defeat. The president’s narcissistic mind isn’t capable of sustaining the public defeat he endured when Joe Biden secured the popular and electoral vote. At first, it was fun watching Biden win over and over again while Trump’s team suffers from more courtroom defeats, but now it’s just embarrassing as the president tries to cling to power. And even worse, his legal team is filled with weirdos, like Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, for example.
The two released a statement regarding the “Safe Harbor Deadline,” which is the statutory timeline that provides the last day for states to certify election results — and that’s today. This takes place a week before the Electoral College vote that is scheduled for December 14th. Giuliani and Ellis released a statement that said, in part, that they will fight the election results up until January 20th, the day of Biden’s inauguration.
“The ‘Safe Harbor Deadline’ is a statutory timeline that generally denotes the last day for states to certify election results. However, it is not unprecedented for election contests to last well beyond December 8,” the crazy-time statement reads. “Justice Ginsburg recognized in Bush v. Gore that the date of ‘ultimate significance’ is January 6, when Congress counts and certifies the Electoral College votes. The only fixed day in the U.S. Constitution is the inauguration of the President on January 20 at noon.”
“Despite the media trying desperately to proclaim that the fight is over, we will continue to champion election integrity until legal vote is counted fairly and accurately,” they added.

Trump, along with his attorneys, has turned our democracy into a circus. And all of this will Americans are suffering through the pandemic as well as other crises. Trump’s enablers are coddling the president’s fragile ego while the former reality show star burns everything to the ground. I see that Jenna Ellis is staying POSITIVE after contracting COVID-19. Giuliani contracted the coronavirus, too. I’m starting to see a pattern here. I don’t know about y’all, but if this attempted coup keeps up much longer, I might have to start day-drinking.
