Trump Mumbled His Way Through An Interview, Botched Name Of New ISIS Group And It’s Beyond Bad

What a hot mess.

Former President Donald Trump has been using the Afghan crisis to attack President Joe Biden, even though Trump wanted to remove our troops from the region, too. He released 5,000 Taliban prisoners after negotiation with the Taliban, so that wasn’t very helpful. Trump, who went into office with zero political experience, believes that only he could have been able to handle the chaos in Afghanistan. During his rally in Alabama recently, Trump appeared to praise the extremist group, calling them “great negotiators.”

The twice-impeached one-term president called into Sean Hannity’s Fox News show to brag about how he eradicated ISIS, but he really didn’t sound like he knew what he was talking about. And Trump wanted to pull our troops out earlier than President Biden did, so the outcome would have been worse.

Trump referred to the bomb attack outside the airport in Kabul that killed 60 Afghans, 13 American service members, and wounded 15. Trump seemed confused during the call, and referred to ISIS-K as ISIS-X, then tried to walk it back by, instead of correcting himself, claiming that there would eventually be an ISIS-X.

“And ISIS-X, as you know, I knocked out 100% of the ISIS caliphate, I knocked it out,” Trump told Hannity. “In Syria, Iraq, we knocked it out. So now they have a new ISIS, called ISIS-X.”

Watch:

Critics weighed in.

Instead of being helpful, Trump is attacking the sitting president amid crises, including the coronavirus pandemic that the former president bungled. With Trump, Trump comes first, not America.
