Trump On Letitia James’ Announcement: “I Think The NRA Should Move To Texas And Lead A Very Good And Beautiful Life”

That's not how it works, dude.

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on Thursday that the state is seeking to dissolve the National Rifle Association in a lawsuit accusing the leadership — and she directly noted CEO Wayne LaPierre’s name — of diverting millions of dollars for their own personal use. The lawsuit states that the senior leadership of the NRA squandered millions in donations to live lavish lifestyles, using the contributions on personal trips, private jets, and expensive meals. James noted that the non-profit’s failure to manage the organization’s funds lawfully contributed to losses of $64 million over three years.

James said the lawsuit argues that the four executives, including LaPierre, should not be allowed to ever serve on the board of a New York charity again. After an eighteen-month investigation, evidence was found that the NRA is “fraught with fraud and abuse.”

The NRA has endorsed Trump over presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. In 2016, the NRA spent more than $30 million on behalf of the Trump campaign, so of course, the president chimed in with words of comfort for the corrupt organization. They do have so much in common, after all.

“I think the NRA should move to Texas and lead a very good and beautiful life,” the toddler-president told a reporter.

Watch:

The National Rifle Association planned to spend tens of millions of dollars to sway close races throughout the country for the 2020 election, according to a right-wing site. That doesn’t sound like the organization is teaching firearm safety to me. At any rate, the non-profit has been scamming its members for years. That’s a well-known fact, not just a theory. Documents that were leaked online in 2019 revealed lavish six-figure spending on clothing and travel expenses for CEO Wayne LaPierre.

So, the NRA and this president seem to be a good fit for each other. When Trump first saw the terrorist group NRA, he swiped left, and campaign contributions poured in. Trump is once again defending corrupt individuals. The NRA has been warned for years over misusing funds. It doesn’t appear that Trump knows how laws work. The organization can’t just move to Texas to evade the lawsuit. And members of the NRA should be pissed off that the non-profit’s leadership used the organization as a slush fund. Thoughts and prayers.
