Trump On Protests In Portland: “This Is Worse Than Afghanistan, By Far. This Is Worse Than Anything Anyone’s Ever Seen”

Incredible.

Protests in Portland, Oregon, have been a nightly occurrence for more than fifty days now to address police violence toward Black Americans. So, of course, our authoritarian president applauded the federal officers his administration unleashed on the crowd, some of the victims pregnant women who were tear-gassed. One man, a Navy veteran, said, “I was going to ask why they weren’t living up to their oath of office, the Constitution. All I wanted to do was ask them why?” Instead, the feds broke Chris Davis’s hand in two places.

Donald Trump has failed to call out systematic racism following George Floyd’s murder by police officers. America is at a tipping point as citizens are trying to deal with a number of national crises. Trump spoke to reporters at the White House, and just as the president surrendered to the coronavirus, he surrendered to the civil unrest. The feds’ response to protesters has been slammed, but Trump praised their brutal crackdown on demonstrators.

“We’re going to have more federal law enforcement … in Portland, they’ve done a fantastic job … no problem,” Trump insisted. “They grab ’em, a lot of people in jail … these are people that hate our country.”

Watch:

That’s a lot to unpack there. Trump basically just called a Navy veteran someone that hates America. Then, Donald went on to call the protests in Portland “worse than Afghanistan.”

Watch:

This crackdown on Americans in Democratically-controlled cities and Trump suggesting yesterday that he might not accept the election results during his crazy-time interview with Chris Wallace doesn’t appear to be just a coincidence. As for Afghanistan, by the early summer of 2017, troop levels increased in the region by about 50 percent; there were no formal plans to withdraw, and that was during Trump’s tenure.

Trump said, “if Biden got in,” the whole country would turn into Portland. Actually, no. Biden would address racism in this country, and the former Vice President wouldn’t be in the bunker hiding from Americans. Trump lights a fire then runs away from it, then yells at everyone that was burned by the fire. Trump’s move to send in feds to brutalize American citizens should terrify everyone.
