Donald Trump not only refused to pay his respects as the body of the late Congressman John Lewis (D-GA) lay in state at the United States Capitol, Trump failed to even acknowledge the plane carrying Lewis’ body as he stepped aboard Air Force One.
Trump traveled to Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday in preparation to fly to Texas, where the coronavirus has exploded out of control and his poll numbers are sagging against former Vice President Joe Biden.
But just a few yards away from Air Force One was the military plane designated to carry Lewis’ body back to Georgia for his funeral. It’s unclear if Lewis’ body was onboard the plane or not, but Trump reportedly refused to give any attention to it regardless.

That’s twice in two days that Trump has disrespected Lewis, despicable treatment from a so-called “president” for a legendary civil rights icon who nearly gave his life fighting against racial inequality and injustice.
