Trump Responds To FBI Probe On Kavanaugh, GOP Plunges Into Chaos

Midterm elections will be most depressing thing to happen to the GOP.

Donald Trump really isn’t doing the Republican Party any favors before the November midterm elections.

The GOP is already suffering under his presidency, and things have gotten drastically worse for the party as Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is currently being investigated by the FBI for several accusations of sexual assault. While the Republicans are completely responsible for digging this grave for themselves, we have to admit that things have never looked so bleak as “conservative” now sounds like a dirty word and has become so closely associated with the most horrific human rights acts and injustices in our country.

Today, Trump didn’t make things any better. In fact, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan are probably pulling out their hair right now. Right before leaving for a trip to Wheeling, West Virginia for one of his unhinged MAGA rallies, Trump spoke about the FBI’s investigation of Kavanaugh, and continued to defend him and refer to his SCOTUS pick as a “high-quality person.” Trump said:

The FBI as you know is all over, talking to everybody. And I would expect he is a very high-quality person. I would expect it is going to turn out very well for the judge. There’s never been anybody that’s been looked at like Judge Kavanaugh. I think that it is going to work out very well.”

Conveniently leaving out the fact that he has attacked the FBI during his entire presidency, the president continued:

The FBI I believe is doing a really great job. They have been all over already. They have free rein, they’re gonna do whatever they have to do, whatever it is they do, they’ll be doing things we never even thought of and, hopefully, at the conclusion everything will be fine.”

Then of course, the president turned around and slammed the Democratic Party for caring about women (even though Trump himself stated that Kavanaugh’s accuser was “credible”).

I really believe when the public looks at the situation that’s taken place in the last three or four days and what the Democrats are doing and more importantly how they’re acting so terribly, so dishonestly, keeping papers and documents, not releasing them until after hearings are over, I really think the Republicans are picking up a lot.”

And then to sink the final nail into the coffin, Trump said he didn’t need a backup plan even though there’s a very big chance Kavanaugh won’t be confirmed now.

I don’t need a backup plan. We’ll have to see what happens. I think he’s going to be fine.”

We would love to see how the White House is going to clean this mess up.
