Trump Seems To Admit That He Will Be Investigated In New York After He Leaves Office

He said the quiet part out loud.

Donald Trump released a videotaped 46-minute address from the White House Wednesday on Twitter and Facebook that he said, “may be the most important speech I’ve ever made.” However, what came next wasn’t about the coronavirus that has brought the United States to a standstill as food banks are being hammered. Instead, the president unleashed a litany of false claims about the November election he handily lost to Joe Biden. Trump is trying to cling to power, and he’s milking his base to accomplish that. With Trump, Trump comes first, and America is last. That’s just who he is.

The video posted on both Twitter and Facebook was quickly labeled since it was filled with lies. It was rather revealing, though, in his statement, that Trump admitted that he could be in legal trouble after leaving office. “Now, I hear that these same people that failed to get me in Washington have sent every piece of information to New York so that they can try to get me there,” he said.

ABC News and the New York Times reported this week that the president has discussed with advisors the possibility of issuing pre-emptive pardons for Ivanka, Don Jr., and Eric, as well as his attorney, Rudy Giuliani. Trump, of course, called the report fake news. And that means, at least to most of us, that it must be true. And we’ve all come to expect a flurry of pardons to come out before Trump’s disgraceful departure from the White House.

New York state’s attorney general, Leticia James, is pushing ahead with an investigation into tax records from the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer’s family as part of a probe into the president’s company. It might have been best for Donald to not run for office since he has failed on his campaign promise to release his taxes. By doing that, it pretty much left a target across his back. January can’t come soon enough for this mafia-style presidency crime spree to end.
