Trump Spent Earth Day Event Bragging About His Trees: “They Cost More Money, But They Are Better”

What an idiot.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in the United States — a day that, to most, signifies “the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970,” For most of us with half a brain in our noggins, it’s a day to remember the importance of the earth we inhabit and serves as a reminder that we owe Mother Earth our love and respect.

“Today, Earth Day is widely recognized as the largest secular observance in the world, marked by more than a billion people every year as a day of action to change human behavior and create global, national and local policy changes,” the official Earth Day website reads. “Now, the fight for a clean environment continues with increasing urgency, as the ravages of climate change become more and more apparent every day.”

Frankly, the importance of it can’t be impressed deeply enough.

However, to Donald Trump, it apparently just means trees.

Despite his blatant disregard for the actual environment, Trump still held an Earth Day event because he’s never one to pass up an opportunity to brag on himself, especially given the whole “no MAGA rallies because you started a pandemic outbreak in the whole damn country” thing we’ve got going on right now.

And brag on himself he did, folks. Specifically, on his trees and how expensive they are.

“We’re planting 10 beautiful specimen trees. They’re specimens. All specimens,” Trump declared during this afternoon’s event. “People may think that’s an exaggeration or that’s a Trump term. Actually, they’re sold as specimens. They cost more money, but they are better. I buy a lot of ’em.”

I don’t know about you guys, but I find it hard to believe that Donald and Melania Trump have ever gone tree shopping. I’ve just gotta be honest. I mean, they can’t even use shovels.
