Trump Starts NATO Summit In London By Attacking Macron For His “Insulting” And “Very, Very Nasty Statement” About Defense Alliance

He just can't stop himself.

Donald Trump arrived in London for a summit marking the NATO’s 70th anniversary and took that opportunity to launch a rant about recent elections, and of course, he took a shot at French President Emmanuel Macron. Trump took aim at Macron to call out his “very, very nasty statement” on the group being brain-dead and complained about the US’ defense contribution. Without providing evidence or an explanation, Trump also said he could see France “breaking off” from NATO.

Trump has slammed NATO repeatedly in the past as “obsolete” so we’re not sure why the former reality show star took aim at Macron, especially since the two leaders are slated to meet in a couple of hours.

Watch:

The 52-minute press conference followed breakfast with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. Meanwhile, Trump managed to squeeze in a retweeting rampage in defense of his looming impeachment by Congress. Trump spoke of the impeachment “hoax” during the rambling presser, too, and slammed Democrats as “unpatriotic.”

“I think it’s very unpatriotic of the Democrats to put on a performance … Now they want to go to censure because they have no case for impeachment,” he said. “They want to go to censure. I don’t mind being censured if you do something wrong. I did nothing wrong.”

And, of course, he slammed his predecessors while on foreign soil.

Trump also denied that Kim Jong-un is continuing to build his nuclear program,  and told a reporter: “You don’t know that.”

Trump spoke of ISIS leader Al Baghdadi’s death, which he said happened “three weeks ago,” even though it was five weeks ago.  Trump criticized the Democrats, took a shot at former presidents (you know which one he was talking about) and attacked Macron just hours before meeting with the French leader.

Next up, he’s set to have tea with Prince Charles, and we really hope he doesn’t pass out electoral maps of his ‘win’ because at this point, anything can happen and no bar is too low.
