In Washington, DC, the Hotel Harrington has recently become a hang-out for the Proud Boys, the far-right-wing pro-Trump group of violent miscreants. The hotel, though, just announced that it’s closing for the “safety of visitors and employees,” and the Proud Boys aren’t pleased with that. In fact, you could say they’re triggered.
The hotel sent out a notice that it is canceling room reservations from Jan. 4 through Jan. 6, the day Congress is scheduled to certify the Electoral College vote for President-elect Joe Biden, which is also the day of a planned protest in D.C. to throw the most massive hissy fit in history over Trump soundly being defeated by Biden.
The Daily Beast’s Will Sommer posted screenshots of the response from Trumpers who are enraged over their hotel rooms being canceled.
“F*CK HOTEL HARRINGTON,” a Trump fan wrote before trying to cancel the hotel. “THEY CANCELED OUR ROOMS FOR 1/6, THEN WE’LL CANCEL THEIR BUSINESS. NOBODY BOOK WITH THEM, THEY WILL F*CK YOU OVER!!!”

Harry’s, the Harrington hotel bar that’s become a hub for Proud Boys and other MAGA types and been fined by violating Covid restrictions, has also said they’ll be closed Jan. 6.

The statement on the hotel’s Facebook page cited safety concerns.
“We join with all of our guests, visitors, staff and neighbors in our concern and desire for everyone’s health and safety,” it reads. “We greatly appreciate the trust our guests have placed in Hotel Harrington over the years and we wish to continue to earn that trust. While we cannot control what happens outside the hotel, we are taking additional steps to protect the safety of our visitors, guests and employees.”
But, they could easily try to book a room at one of Trump’s gaudy hotels to help the outgoing president enrich himself further just before vacating the White House. I’m sure the guests there would love the hotel filled with unhygienic, violent, woman-hating assholes.
