Donald Trump unleashed a conspiracy theory about a 75-year-old protester in Buffalo, New York, who suffered a severe head injury after the police shoved him to the ground onto a cement sidewalk. Longtime activist Martin Gugino hit the ground so hard you can hear his head hit the cement in the video that was widely circulated. And of course, Trump called out Mr. Gugino by name, thus siccing his online MAGA army of Red Hats after the elderly activist, who, as far as I know, is still in the hospital.
Mr. Gugino’s incident was captured on video, showing him approaching officers with his hands out to the side, and it appears that the 75-year-old man was trying to return a police helmet when two officers rushed up to him and shoved him onto the cement sidewalk. Gugino then began bleeding out from his ear.

Trump was triggered by the incident after it showed the police in an unfavorable light, so he took to Twitter to smear Gugino while tagging the president’s favorite boot-licking network.
“Buffalo protester shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur,” he tweeted. “75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment. @OANN I watched, he fell harder than was pushed. Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?”

To further prove how weird 2020 is, I was just joking with a friend the other day, saying that the president and his supporters will claim that the elderly activist is an ANTIFA super-soldier — and here we are. Only Donald J. Trump would smear a senior citizen who was captured on video being shoved to the ground by police officers.
Trump has lowered the bar, and we need to raise it in November. None of this is normal. Anyone can become a target of this president. You are ANTIFA if you oppose his presidency.
