Trump Tells His Supporters That He Won’t “Be Cheated And Be Stupid” If He Loses And Then Transition Peacefully

I can't even wrap my brain around this.

Donald Trump has clearly been attempting to ride the rhetoric of hair-brained, insane, and widely debunked conspiracy theories all the way to November 3rd — makes sense considering he doesn’t actually have a single tangible thing to run on — and last night’s Virginia campaign rally was no exception.

Trump has long been touting ridiculous theories surrounding the 2020 presidential election. For the longest time, it was rants and unhinged ramblings about mail-in voting — going so far as to seemingly suggest that voters vote twice, once by mail and once in person.

And while the mail-in voting tirades are still going strong, Trump has seemingly honed in a different ridiculous obsession now that the election is truly closing in on him.

Lately, the topic at hand with Democrats and Republicans alike has been the traditional peaceful transfer of power should Joe Biden win the upcoming election as polls are predicting.

Trump has made it strikingly clear over the past several weeks that a peaceful transition of power just isn’t on his to-do list — mainly, it seems because he doesn’t believe he will actually lose.

This was the rhetoric he doubled down on during his Virginia rally last night.

During the super-spreader event, Trump seemed to declare that it was impossible for him to lose the upcoming presidential election, so, therefore, it would be “stupid” for him to peacefully transition and hand over power if the results show him at a loss.

“We not gonna lose this, except if they cheat,” Trump claimed of November’s impending election, even though Biden is blowing him out of the water in every reputable poll around.

“That’s the only way we’re gonna lose is if there’s, uh, mischief,” he proclaimed, adding, “And it will have to be on a big scale.”

Tripling down on the ridiculous and blatantly false theories, he went on, “And we do want a very friendly transition, but we don’t want to be cheated and be stupid and say, ‘oh, let’s transit — we’ll go and we’ll do a transition’ and we know that there were thousands and thousands of ballots that made the difference through cheating.”

At the tail end of his rant, Trump vowed, “We’re not going to stand for it. We’re not going to stand for it.”

CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale had this to say about it:

All I can say is, we better be prepared.
