Trump Tower Has A New Bar That Is Themed Around Trump’s Presidency And It’s About As Cheesy As You Would Expect

Yikes.

Trump Tower has opened a new bar called 45 Wine and Whisky, and it’s as gaudy as you can imagine. The bar sells several cocktails inspired by Trump, his family, and the White House, and the Forty Five special includes a specialty cocktail, a Diet Coke, and beef sliders, Business Insider reports. We’re used to Trump’s tackiness; after all, most of us have seen photos of his Fifth Avenue penthouse in New York City that is decorated with 24-karat gold and marble features in the style of Louis XIV.

According to the outlet, some of the cocktails offered on the menu include the Don, the FLOTUS, and the Mar-a-Lago spritzer. Meanwhile, the Don costs a whopping $24. The West Wing costs $25. The Rose Garden costs $27. The FLOTUS  costs $29, and the Mar-a-Lago Spritzer costs $24.

“Many of the cocktails contain wines from Trump Winery, which was purchased by Trump for $6 million at a foreclosure auction in 2011,” Insider reports. “Previously the Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyards, the Charlottesville, Virginia, vineyard, and winery are now run by Donald Trump’s son, Eric.”

“The bar appears to also be adorned with memorabilia from Trump’s presidency, including a photo of him in the Situation Room watching the US raid that killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, according to the outlet.

When Business Insider tried to reach the bar by phone, a voicemail came on that bizarrely said, “You’ve reached the Kramer Levin bankruptcy and restructuring hotline. There are no new announcements at this time. We look forward to seeing you.”

I’m not sure what that’s about, but maybe they’re confused since the twice-impeached one-term president has filed for bankruptcy so many times. Like the time Trump Taj Mahal opened in April 1990 in Atlantic City, but six months later, he “defaulted on interest payments to bondholders as his finances went into a tailspin.” There are so many examples, yet somehow Republicans thought he should hold the keys to the White House. In July 1991, Trump’s Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy. He reportedly could not keep up with debts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two properties declared bankruptcy in 1992. So, I suspect that 45 Wine and Whiskey won’t fare well, either.
