Trump Won’t Be Happy When He Finds Out Two Top Ohio Republicans Reportedly Won’t Be Attending His First Rally In The State Since Leaving The White House

Disgraced ex-president Donald Trump is set to reignite his old MAGA rallies for the first time since departing the White House in a cloud of shame and corruption back in January, with an event scheduled in the red state of Ohio to officially break rally hiatus. But, I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts that Donnie won’t be happy when he finds out that not just one but two top Ohio Republicans won’t be in attendance to mark the occasion.

Trump’s comeback” rally is set to take place at the Lorain County fairgrounds on Saturday, his first event in the area since he won the state but lost the election. However, both Ohio’s Republican Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor John Husted will not be attending, according to a new report from Newsweek.

The Columbus Dispatch, a local publication, reported that DeWine has a family conflict that’s preventing him from attending Trump’s big rally while Husted apparently has yet to give an excuse for his absence.

Both of the GOP men found themselves brutally booed by the crowd at a Trump rally near Dayton, Ohio, back in September of last year.

In addition to the governor and Lt. governor skipping out on the festivities, The Toledo Blade has reported that Ohio Senator Robert Portman also won’t be attending the event. However, some of the state’s other prominent GOPers have indicated that they will be attending Trump’s first big rally since the dark days.

GOP Rep. Jim Jordan, who represents Ohio’s 4th congressional district, will reportedly be there with bells on, just as we’d expect.

Speaking with Blade today, a spokesperson for the Trump sycophantic GOP congressman said, “Heck yes, Mr. Jordan will be there.”

Former Representative Jim Renacci will also reportedly be in attendance. Renacci is challenging DeWine for his position as governor of the state in the 2022 election.

Thus far, Trump has not announced his endorsement for the state’s governor’s race but DeWine has previously stated that he would accept the former president’s endorsement if it were offered. However, it doesn’t seem as though he puts all that much stock in an endorsement, to begin with.

“Endorsements are interesting but ultimately people make a decision who they want to be their governor or their senator,” DeWine said back on March 19th. “I’m not sure endorsements play such a huge role.”

With that being said, we’re not entirely sure that Trump’s endorsement is one that DeWine will be getting, as he stated during a CNN interview last year that he recognized Joe Biden as the legitimate winner of the 2020 presidential election and urged then-outgoing President Trump to begin the transition. He also noted that the ex-president “should have done more” in regard to the infamous January 6th Capitol riot, calling it “a horrible, horrible day.”

Newsweek reportedly reached out to the Ohio governor whose office cited a previously scheduled family event and the reason for skipping Trump’s rally and ultimately offered no further comments.
