When Donald Trump first started squealing about voter fraud and rigged elections, he seemed to have quite the crowd on his side. However, we’re not a month into the mess, Donald and his legal team have no watched as dozens of lawsuits and various recounts have literally blown up in their faces, inauguration day is closing in, and people are just kinda getting tired of it all.
As the days turn into weeks, more and more people that Donald undoubtedly believed would be loyal to the end have begun to give up on this second term pipe dream, realized that there is no fraud to speak of, and accepted that Joe Biden was the clear, fair, and rightful winner of the 2020 presidential election whether they like it or not.
Just a few days ago, none other than Attorney General Bill Barr joined that ever-growing list of Trump sycophants to ditch the idea of a rigged, fraudulent election — a move that Trump and the confidantes he does have left were none too happy with. And now it seems that the list just got a little longer still with the surprising addition of Trump’s former adviser, Kellyanne Conway.
In an interview with The 19th that aired today, the former adviser and White House counselor seemed to acknowledge Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris as the apparent winners of the 2020 presidential election.
“If you look at the vote totals in the Electoral College tally, it looks like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will prevail,” Conway stated. “I assume the electors will certify that and it will be official. We, as a nation, will move forward, because we always do.”
In what was probably an effort to prevent flaming dog shit from being mailed to her door, Kellyanne did note that the outgoing president is continuing to “exhaust all of his legal avenues” to challenge and/or change the results of the race, something she was clear to point out that he has every right to do.
However, Kellyanne did put emphasis on this country’s need for a peaceful transition of power.
“We want the engines of government to keep going,” she stated.
There’s no denying that the GOPers have taken their sweet time when it comes to seeing logic and reason regarding this election, and I’m sure several of them will never come around. But one thing is clear — these people are getting tired of weary of this constant battle. Even to Trump’s own party — enough is enough.
