President Donald Trump’s trip to India will only last for two days, but he’ll have to forego his carnivorous ways because Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a vegetarian and meat is not eaten in public.
As we all know, Trump often serves a buffet of fast-food at White House events and is a fan of cheeseburgers, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and burnt steaks.
But White House officials are worried about how their boss is going to handle the vegetarian fare that’s going to be placed before him at public meals in India, where beef is off the menu because cows are considered sacred.
According to CNN:
The President, whose diet is often a rotation of steaks, burgers, and meatloaf, faces a potential shock as he prepares to travel to three Indian cities this week. His trip includes stops in Gujarat state, Agra and Delhi, where Hindus are the majority and cows are revered as sacred. In some neighborhoods, meat eating is so taboo that it’s not done in public
Modi is a devoted vegetarian and plans to serve vegetarian food to the President, according to people familiar with the planning. Trump will sit for several meals with Modi when he’s in India, including a lunch and a formal banquet Tuesday…”

The menu will also likely be finalized at the last minute, leaving staffers little or no time to add items that will make Trump more comfortable with his meals.
The India Times reports that “the menu will include local Gujarati items such as khaman, special Gujarati ginger tea, broccolian-corn samosa, ice tea, multi-grain cookies, and coconut water.”
McDonald’s can’t save Trump in India either, as it does not serve beef there, instead serving chicken burgers and fried cheese sandwiches.
Again, eating meat in India is so taboo it’s not often done in public. And these official meals will be very public.
One person who has dined with Trump told CNN that he has “never seen him eat a vegetable,” so these meals could get awkward.
Twitter users are having a field day at the thought of Trump having to eat veggies instead of meat.
Hope Trump is bringing his Big Macs with him. Looks like only steamed and boiled vegetarian food on the menu for him in India 😂https://t.co/CJjvK8TiCn

Trump is heading w/ his rent-a-wife to India where beef is not eaten. Prime Minister Modi is a strict vegetarian. Karma does manage to come home. Maybe that rotten wheel of maggot ridden executive will choke on something green!

@realDonaldTrump
Good luck on your trip to India where the Prime Minister will be serving vegetarian meals. No meat. That’s what that means. So no complaining.
And the Taj Majal is not a remake of your dumpy Casino in Atlantic City so no comments about how yours was better. pic.twitter.com/ud5cBVZfZ1— Mark Steffich (@MarkSteffich) February 24, 2020
SORRY, NO BIG MACS IN INDIA: Trump’s host on his India visit is a fervent vegetarian. The White House is apparently nervous about the menus. https://t.co/zSy82uWkGL via @TheWeek

I love the thought of Donald Trump freaking out that he needs to eat vegetarian for his two day trip to India 😂

Heard on the radio this morning that India will only be serving Trump vegetarian food. Is that true? A man known for eating steaks better be careful not to ask for beef or he’ll end up having a lot of beef with a lot of Indians.#TrumpInIndia#TrumpVisitIndia#TrumpIndiaVisit

Looks like Trump is going to be “hangry” for a couple days.
