Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, issued a dire warning over the COVID-19 pandemic, saying the U.S is “not really geared” to conduct the amount of testing for the coronavirus that will be required as the disease continues to spread across the nation at rapid speed. Americans need to hear facts instead of disinformation from this administration, and Fauci, an expert in his field, seems to be the only one we can trust to tell the rest of us what’s going on.
At this point — and the numbers are climbing daily — the outbreak has hit 44 states, as well as Washington, D.C. The coronavirus has infected more than 1,300 Americans and has killed at least 38 people.
Just yesterday, Rep. Carolyn Maloney, chairwoman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, asked Dr. Fauci, “Is the worst yet to come?”
“Yes, it is,” Fauci replied.

Fauci then said on Thursday the system is “failing.”
“The system is not really geared to what we need right now, what you are asking for. That is a failing,” Dr. Fauci told the House Oversight and Reform Committee on at a hearing on the nation’s preparedness for the outbreak, according to CNBC.
“The idea of anybody getting it easily the way people in other countries are doing it, we’re not set up for that,” he continued. “Do I think we should be? Yes. But we’re not.”
Well, I’m not a stable genius, but maybe if Donald Trump’s administration had not fired the government’s entire pandemic response chain of command in 2018, then we would be better prepared. Trump killed the pandemic response system because it was established during the Obama administration.
Trump has suggested that warmer weather would rid us of the deadly virus, and on Tuesday, the president told reporters and Americans not to worry about the uncontained pandemic that has swept across the globe because it would just “go away.” Trump has also suggested that his ego-wall along the Southern border will stop the outbreak that is already in this country.
Meanwhile, nearly 200 people have died in Italy from the novel coronavirus in just one day, NBC News reported. We could be headed in that direction if Americans aren’t tested.
