Trump’s Vegas Hotel Is Reportedly Taking Reservations Again Amid Ongoing Pandemic

I wish I were surprised.

Recently, the Mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada was quick to offer up her city as a “control group” in an effort to see if people would actually die if we loosened up the social distancing guidelines and let the country return to business as usual.

And now, according to a new report from The Daily Beast, Trump’s very own hotel is itching to be a part of that “control group” and get some money flowing back into their pockets.

The report states that the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas has already begun to pen in reservations for as early as mid-May, despite the fact that the coronavirus pandemic is still going strong around the world and in the United States.

“The decision to reopen comes at a time when Trump properties, much like the hotel industry at large, have seen steep declines in revenue owing to closures related to the spread of the coronavirus,” the report from The Daily Beast reads. “That decline has sparked other hotels and casinos in Las Vegas — including Wynn Las Vegas and Treasure Island — to announce that they will be opening their doors in mid-May too.”

There’s no doubt that Trump’s hotel, which doesn’t feature a casino inside like many others along the strip do, is likely suffering some financial strain amid this nationwide shutdown. However, it’s worth noting that many other hotels, such as MGM, are being extra cautious during this unprecedented and frankly unpredictable time and don’t intend to take any new reservations at their properties until at least June.

However, we frankly know damn good and well that there are only two things Donald Trump cares about in this world — money and himself.

To think that he’d push back the opportunity to make himself money in an effort to save the lives of other people is the joke of the year.
