Yesterday a letter was released to the public and handed out to multiple reporters by Trump himself that was originally sent to Turkish president Tayyip Erdoğan — in which Donald attempted to talk him into a ceasefire after Erdoğan launched a massive attack against one of the United States’ biggest allies, the Kurds.
The attack on the Kurdish people was a direct result of Donald’s own decision to pull US troops from the Syria–Turkey border, essentially giving Erdoğan the green light to follow through with his massacre — which Trump knew all along was his plan.
As a result of Donald’s decision, not only have the Democrats been up in arms against him, but members of his own GOP party as well, including the likes of Senators Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham, two people that have some weight over Trump once his impeachment proceedings reach the Senate.
In what I can only imagine was a last-ditch bid to keep his cronies from voting to oust him, rather than any sort of real compassion or remorse for the Kurds, Trump sent a letter to the Turkish president that reads as though my nine-year-old son penned it — complete with true-to-Trump language, featuring says such as “Don’t be a tough guy!” and “Don’t be a fool!”

The letter was, of course, brutally mocked by people all across this nation and all around the world yesterday, with MSNBC anchors going so far as to fact check the letter with the White House to ensure its authenticity because it was just that “weird.”
And now, thanks to a new report from Middle East Eye, we know precisely how Turkey’s president felt about Donald’s childish letter, as well.
Speaking only under the conditions of anonymity, one Turkish government official told the website, “We just dumped his letter into the trash.”
“The date on the letter is 9 October, the same day we began Operation Peace Spring,” the Turkish government source continued. “Our president gave the best response by launching the operation on the same day at 4 p.m.”
Erdoğan also refused to meet with VP Mike Pence yesterday, stating, “When Trump comes here I’ll be talking.”
Prominent Turkey expert Soner Cagaptay tweeted his thoughts yesterday, stating, “This Trump letter to Erdogan is the most damaging correspondance that could’ve been leaked ahead of VP Pence’s visit to Ankara tomorrow. Now, Erdogan has no option but to delay ceasefire in Syria less he be humiliated in front of his nation as weak and bowing to America’s threat.”

Russia, meanwhile, labeled the tone of Trump’s letter as “highly unusual.”
“You don’t often encounter such language in correspondence between heads of state. It’s a highly unusual letter,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained.
According to former Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, all meetings between Turkish and US officials should be canceled, stating in a tweet, “The Turkish nation and state were offended.”
No one can make a bad situation worse quite like Donald Trump.
