In case you missed it: Female rapper Cardi B and Conservative political commentator Candace Owens have been at each others’ throats following the singer’s performance of her song “WAP” at this year’s Grammy’s.

As I’m sure you know, “WAP” is a rather explicit song, but many people, especially those in the feminist community, see the song as a symbol of adult women’s empowerment, as it zeroes in on women being comfortable with their sexuality.

Unsurprisingly, the reception to the performance of the song at this year’s Grammy’s award show has been mixed, at best. Frankly, much like J-Lo’s Super Bowl performance, the Right just needs something to be mad about and they’ve spent the past several days crying “But the children!” — despite the fact that the Grammy’s is not a children’s show.

However, it seems no one was as aggrieved over Cardi B’s performance of her hit song more than Candace freakin’ Owens.

It appears that the Twitter feud between the two women began a couple of days ago, with Owens responding to a now-deleted tweet, calling the rapper “a cancer cell to culture” and claiming that Cardi B is poisoning the minds of young black girls with “what you are trying to package and sell to them as ’empowerment.'”

One of Owens’ tweets read, “If you think making your husband a sandwich is a sin, but popping your vagina into another woman’s vagina in front of the world is power— you are a lost soul.”

Many of the rapper’s tweets from the feud have since been deleted — possibly in connection to a photoshopped image of a tweet hailing from Owens’ account that the Conservative political commentator threatened to sue the rapper over.

However, one particular response from the rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, has remained as the dust begins to settle around the social media war — and it featured an old, lewd photo of the former First Lady Melania Trump.

Cardi promoted her new song, alongside an old modeling photo of Melania, in which her bits can be seen through the “clothing” she’s wearing, captioning the post, “STREAM “UP “ON ALL PLATFORMS..Candy DONT like it but Melania B approves.”

It seemed as though the award-winning rapper was trying to make a point with the lewd photo of the former First Lady — the fact of the matter is, the Right has a serious double-standard.
Owens is downright indignant over Cardi’s performance of her own song, yet the Right seems to take absolutely no issue with Melania Trump’s bits and bobs being easily accessible through a quick Google search.
Pick one or the other, my Right-wing peeps. You don’t get to do both.
