TX Gov. Greg Abbott Was Asked Whether He Will Attend Houston NRA Event That’s Scheduled Just Days After Uvalde Shooting And His Response Is Utterly Sickening

You have GOT to be kidding me...

It has been a long, hard, heart-breaking, earth-shattering couple of days in Texas — after 18-year-old high school student turned gunman, Salvador Ramo, opened fire on Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where he managed to shoot and kill at least 21 innocent human beings — 19 children and two teachers in one fourth-grade classroom.

The heinous massacre will go down as the state of Texas’s most deadly school shooting in modern history, the nation’s third most deadly shooting, just after the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting and 2012 Sandy Hook shooting, and the country’s third deadly mass shooting in a matter of weeks.

The parents of 19 children went home last night, not to celebrate the end of the school yet with their children, but to sit in empty bedrooms full of toys and artwork and so much love, while they plan funerals for their babies. Two teachers did not go home last night to finish up their planning before the summer break. Instead, they did not go home at all.

But don’t worry, guys. Don’t fret. Texas’ GOP Governor Greg Abbott is taking it all “moment to moment” right now.

Yesterday, as reporting on the Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting was still developing, we reported on the fact that, as it currently stands, ex-President Donald Trump, Texas GOP Senator Ted Cruz, and Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott are all set to attend a speaking event for the National Rifle Association that is slated to take place in Houston, Texas, this weekend, just 72 short hours after more than 20 people were slaughtered in a mass murder shooting.

As you can imagine, people are pushing back hard on the Texas governor for daring to even entertain the notion of attending an event for an association that has played a personal role in the murder of countless children in the United States, on the heels of 19 innocent lives being cut off at the quick far too soon.

What does Abbott have to say, when reporters questioned whether he’d still show his disgusting face at the NRA event this weekend, while parents plan burials for their babies?

“I’m living moment to moment right now.”

I am not joking.

The children of your constituents are not living at all now, Greg. Explain your NRA appearance to them.
