Unhinged Trump Responds To “Gloomy” Pat Toomey After Republican Senator Says The Ex-President Shouldn’t Be The Nominee In 2024

He is so predictable.

Pennsylvania GOP Sen. Pat Toomey called out former President Donald Trump in an interview last week over his “unacceptable behavior” following the 2020 election. He added that he doesn’t think Trump should be the nominee to lead the party in 2024.

“I think that the future of our party is to be a party of ideas and not to be a party about any one individual, and I think we will learn a lot from the next set of primaries,” he said. “I think after what happened post-2020 election, I think the president’s behavior was completely unacceptable, so I don’t think he should be the nominee to lead the party in 2024.”

Well, the twice-impeached one-term president predictably lashed out at the Pennsylvania Republican in a statement released on Twitter by his spokeswoman Liz Harrington since Trump is banned on the social media behemoth after he incited the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection. Trump, of course, assigned a nickname to Toomey, calling him “Gloomy.” Get it? Gloomy and Toomey rhyme, so Trump thinks that’s a humdinger of a nickname after Toomey hurt his feelings. What a jokey jokester Trump is.

Trump claimed that Toomey “ran with me in 2016 and wasn’t expected to win, but because of my victory he did,” then, the former president blasted the Pennsylvania Republican over tariffs and said he’s “not the sharpest tool in the shed.”

You can read his full statement below:

Toomey isn’t running for reelection, so Trump didn’t need to bring him up. However, Sen. Toomey voted to convict the former president in the impeachment trial over his role in inciting the deadly January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of his supporters, so Trump is still holding a grudge. As for Trump’s “unacceptable behavior” since the election over nine months ago, he is still pushing his big lie of widespread voter fraud that doesn’t exist. And that lie led to the insurrection. He will never change. He can’t; his narcissistic personality disorder won’t allow it.
