As the apparent corruption surrounding the Uvalde Police Department continues to grow with each passing day, one Uvalde mother whose children were inside Robb Elementary School when Salvador Ramos entered the building and opened fire is now breaking her silence — and the level of corruption is only getting worse and worse.

Angeli Gomez was one of the parents who found herself handcuffed by law enforcement officials in the parking lot of the elementary school for daring to scream and beg the local police to do something, anything to get inside the school and save their children. Gomez was eventually able to convince one officer to remove the handcuffs, ultimately allowing her to run inside the school, where Ramos was actively shooting, and retrieve her children — a 3rd grader and a 2nd grader who both survived the slaughter.

But now, speaking with CBS News,  Gomez says she has received a phone call from law enforcement, who warned her to shut her mouth and stop speaking to the media with her story or she would be charged with “obstruction of justice” because she is on probation for a charge she says is close to a decade old.

Gomez has been vocal over the last several days about the lack of action she saw from local and federal law enforcement agents during the shooting — who had apparently set up a perimeter around the school but were refusing to actually enter Robb Elementary School and take out Salvador Ramos. Ultimately, 18-year-old Ramos was able to shoot and kill 19 children and 2 teachers during the 75 minutes he remained inside the school, before an elite Border Patrol unit entered the 4th-grade classroom and shot him to death.

Uvalde’s police spoke out in the hours and days after the massacre and claimed that they allowed Ramos to stay inside the school for so long because their commander believed that the immediate threat to any children inside was already over. Officials have admitted that this was the “wrong decision” and reports have since come out indicating that the police likely did know that Ramos was still active inside the school when they made the decision to wait.

Gomez was captured on video footage running out of the school with her two children as police stood in the parking lot.

At this point, it feels as though it’s no longer a matter of if the police are covering something up, but rather, what they are covering up.
