Look, there’s a whole lot going on in this country and the world that people could and should be getting up in arms about. Donald Trump is still trying to steal an election he’s already lost a dozen times over. Children are needlessly starving every day while America’s 1 percent fights over who’s going to space first. People are still dying from a fatal virus while millions refuse to get vaccinated against it because “Trump.” Yet, out of all the important, pressing things going on in this day and age, not a single one of them has anything to do with Chik-Fil-A. At least, not in the sense that Lindsey Graham is crying about.
When it comes to the Jesus-loving fast-food chicken, the biggest problem is their anti-LGBTQA+ stance, not their ability to remain hateful bigots and still do business like usual. But if you ask Graham, that’s pretty much the single most important thing going on today.
The South Carolina senator took to his Twitter account this afternoon in defense of the LGBTQA+ community-hating fast food joint after students at Notre Dame moved to stop the chicken restaurant from doing business on campus due to the inclusivity of the business.
Apparently, Graham is so pressed about the matter that he is quite literally willing to “go to war” for the fast-food establishment.
“I want everyone in South Carolina and across America to know I have Chick-fil-A’s back,” Graham wrote in a series of tweets regarding the Notre Dame protests against Chik-Fil-A. “I hope we don’t have to, but I will go to war for the principles Chick-fil-A stands for.”

Twitter users took the GOP senator straight to the woodshed as he deserved:
I am actually embarrassed for you.

Fun fact:
One of @ChickfilA‘s “great values” is lying about originally inventing the fried chicken sandwich; it was, like many other foods associated with the South, an idea appropriated without attribution from Black people.

It’s a fast food restaurant you garden troll. We have real issues and you’re going to bat for a franchise in a state you don’t live in. Go get some chapstick and put your lips back on Trump’s orange ass.

Have you heard of the separation between Church and State or are you being intentionally ignorant to a key basis of America’s actual values.
You know chicken sandwiches were not mentioned in the constitution, right?

In which we learn that Lindsey’s hill to die on is a fast food restaurant.

Good Lord, this is twelve kinds of sad.

My love, I write on the eve of my likely swan song in the fast food wars. Today we retreated from the Burger King’s army. Col. Sanders fell, only 11 of his many loyal herbs & spices returned. Next it’s Arby’s we’ve got to meats in battle. I still have Chick fil a’s back. ~Lindsey pic.twitter.com/pEUvwZI2FK
