While it’s a good idea to not panic over the deadly coronavirus that has gone worldwide, it would help to lessen concerns if the top guy in charge of this country’s well-being would stop lying about the outbreak. Donald Trump spoke to officials with reporters in attendance at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta on Friday, where he called Washington’s governor a snake. Then he pushed for a cruise ship to stay at sea, so American virus patient totals don’t increase to make him look bad.
After that, Trump said tests were nearly as perfect as the Ukraine call that eventually got him impeached. It was clearly a photo-op gone wrong as Trump made the outbreak all about him, as usual. The disinformation (lies) circulated from this administration paints the picture of an inept president who, in the past, criticized his predecessor — when it’s Trump who is incapable of calming the population in the face of a potential pandemic.
Trump is good at making a bad situation worse. According to the New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman, Trump told donors at Mar-a-Lago yesterday that coronavirus concerns will be over in “a couple of months.”
At his fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago tonight, POTUS repeated to the crowd of several hundred donors that the Coronavirus concerns will be over in “a couple of months,” per one attendee.

There is literally nothing to indicate that Trump’s claim is valid. In fact, as much as we’d love for this outbreak to end quickly, it doesn’t look like that’s the case, since two deaths in Florida were just reported with two people who contracted coronavirus.
BREAKING: Florida has reported its first coronavirus deaths, a man in his 70s who had been sick in Santa Rosa County and a man in his 70s in Lee County. Both had traveled internationally.

And this happened, too:
Florida has also reported two new positive coronavirus tests. Both are in Broward County. One is a 75-year-old man. The other is a 65-year-old man.

We need consistency, and most importantly, the truth from this administration. Sadly, it looks unlikely that anyone in this administration is capable of that.
