White House Attempts To Defend Trump’s Attacks On Grieving Congresswoman Dingell: “The President Is A Counter Puncher”

I wouldn't expect any less from the Trump White House.

Last night, as the House of Representatives tallied their formal votes and officially impeached Donald Trump, number 45 was neck-deep in a MAGA rally in Battle Creek, Michigan where he undoubtedly surrounded himself with an arena full of people who were guaranteed to love and revere him — a Trump safe space, if you will.

And for the most part, he got away with it, just short of one fiery protester who unfurled a huge banner reading, “DON THE CON. YOU’RE FIRED.” before they were escorted out by security detail, flying Trump the “two-finger salute” while yelling “F*CK YOU!” as the “president” stood on the stage and called them disgusting, a slob, and complained that his guards didn’t rough the individual up a little worse.

Now, while all of Trump’s presidential reelection rallies are little more than a hot mess, at best, this particular MAGA shindig was a dumpster fire of the highest power.

Of course, Trump was rather worked up into a tizzy last night considering his last-ditch desperate attempt to sway Pelosi’s mind on his impending impeachment with a groveling 6-page letter did nothing to help his case in the end. So, it came as no surprise that Donald got a little extra wild when surrounded by his most devout loyalists, full of IQs no bigger than shoe sizes.

We expected the rants against the Clintons. We expected the unhinged tirades over toilets and dishwashers. We expected the attacks against Adam Schiff. But I’m not sure that anyone was prepared for the downright disgusting assault against Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell and her recently deceased husband all because she voted in favor of his impeachment.

“I gave him everything, I don’t want anything, I don’t need anything for anything,” Trump said during the rally last night. “She calls me up: ‘It’s the nicest thing that’s ever happened. Thank you so much. John would be so thrilled. He’s looking down. He’d be so thrilled. Thank you so much, sir.’ I said, ‘That’s OK, don’t worry about it.’”

“Maybe he’s looking up, I don’t know,” Donald added to a mixture of groans and laughs from his own crowd. “I don’t know. Maybe, but let’s assume he’s looking down.”

It seems that Trump’s White House doesn’t know quite what to say about Trump’s nauseating behavior either.

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham first responded to Trump’s strike by simply saying, “You’d have to ask the president about that.”

But it didn’t take her but a hot second to double back and defend the president by claiming that he was only issuing a “counter-punch” in response to Dingell’s impeachment vote.

“The president is a counter-puncher,” Grisham stated in Donald’s defense. “It was a very very supportive and wild crowd and he was just riffing on some of the things that had been happening the past few days.”

So, the only defense that Trump’s White House has is that he was fired up and retaliating for a Congresswoman doing her congressional duty.

That’s pretty damn sad.
