Donald Trump is absolutely flailing in the polls. It doesn’t matter what sort of nonsense he spews or conspiracies he claims. The polls are the polls and the polls say he’s losing. And according to a new report from the Washington Post, a handful of current White House officials are beginning to panic about what that’s going to mean for them.
According to the publication’s report, Trump administration staffers, as well as GOP operatives, are beginning to realize the very legitimate possibility that their reputations may be permanently, and at the very least temporarily, destroyed due to their work for the president who’s looking like a loser in a just a few short weeks.
One GOP operative said, “I have a buddy in the administration who is starting to quietly move his resume around and he’s noticed people who he thought would be quicker to respond to inquiries have been less so. He called it ‘the Trump stink. How much Trump stink is on my resume right now?’”
Another operative, based in D.C., told the Post that he doesn’t expect Vice President Mike Pence’s staff to have quite the same trouble as those who worked directly for Donald Trump.

A GOP strategist who still works in Washington said, “Pence’s staff will be insulated more. Especially as after-action reports come out about the role he played and the impact he was able to have on bigger decisions. His team ends up in a different boat.”
However, one Trump campaign staffer did acknowledge to the publication that there will likely be a reluctance among corporate America to hire former Trump officials at the risk of their reputation as a company.
“There’s just that stigma of being a Trump person,” the campaign staffer said.
When you work for an administration that cages brown babies indefinitely, rallies around white officers who mass murder black men, and kills over 200,00 people in a pandemic… It’s safe to say that’s not going to be a shining point on your resume.
I hope they get stuck flipping burgers.
