In a blatant effort to take down Dr. Anthony Fauci in order to please President Donald Trump, a pair of his supporters actually paid a woman to accuse the National Institutes of Health’s infectious diseases expert of sexual assault. Now, she’s blowing the whistle on them.

The accusation was not credible in the first place, being but a blip on the media radar in the midst of a global pandemic that has now killed more than 70,000 Americans.

A woman who called herself Diana Rodriguez suddenly came forward to accuse Fauci — the top health expert and face of the response — of sexual assault.

“He looked rich and powerful, and I love smart men with grey hair,” she explained. “He told me all about his fantastic career in medicine, so I went upstairs.”

At that point, Rodriguez said Fauci followed her and they tussled on the bed until she escaped.

The alleged incident supposedly took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington DC.

“Now, when I see him on TV touted as some kind of hero, I want the nation to know the truth. This is my truth. This is my story,” she said.

There’s a reason why the story gained little traction. It involves Trump supporters Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, both of whom regularly drum up fake sexual assault accusations that end up backfiring against them. They’ve put out several false allegations over the years in an effort to hurt Trump’s enemies.

But now Diana, who says her real name is Diana Andrade, is spilling the beans against both men. She not only retracted her accusation and apologized to Fauci, but she also recorded a damning conversation with Wohl and Burkman exposing their scheme and proved her connection to Wohl through pictures.

“Hi Nancy, I hope you are having a nice weekend,” Andrade wrote in an email to Reason reporter Nancy Rommelmann, who fielded the accusation from Rodriguez only ten days earlier. “I feel very bad about lying to you and others about Dr. Fauci. I took it upon myself to call Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman and record them. Many thanks and again, I feel very bad about all this. I apologize to you, the other reporters, and Dr. Fauci.”

Andrade says that Wohl and Burkman paid her to falsify a sexual assault allegation against Fauci in order to embarrass him and help Trump lie about the pandemic and reopen the country earlier than health experts like Fauci recommend.

“The reality is that I’ve known Jacob since 2018 and that he charmed me into taking money to do this (see attached picture of us together),” she wrote. “And I understand they’re trying to get another girl to do it, too. They asked me if I knew anyone to do it. I ignored his inquiry about this. But it led me to feel like I needed to blow the whistle.”

And did she ever. In a recording, Burkman and Wohl tell Andrade that she will be paid in cash to help cover their tracks and that she needs to stay quiet for their scheme to work.

“We don’t want any records of this nonsense,” Burkman said.

Burkman then outright admitted the plan is to take Fauci down to help Trump.

“Let me tell you something, Diana,” Burkman said. “This guy shut the country down. He put 40 million people out of work. In a situation like that, you have to make up whatever you have to make up to stop that train and that’s the way life works, okay? That’s the way it goes.”

Both men agreed that it doesn’t matter how many Americans die because most will be elderly or weak.

“Mother Nature has to clean the barn every so often,” Burkman said. “How real is it? Who knows? So what if 1 percent of the population goes? So what if you lose 400,000 people? 200,000 were elderly, the other 200,000 are the bottom of society. You got to clean out the barn. If it’s real, it’s a positive thing, for God’s sake.”

So both of these Trump supporters literally paid a woman to smear Fauci so that Trump could downplay the virus and sacrifice hundreds of thousands of lives. It’s sick, and there should be extreme legal consequences for their actions. These schemes need to stop and their antics have undoubtedly resulted in deaths this time.
