Donald Trump has been desperately, though to no avail, attempting to get out ahead of the deadly coronavirus outbreak that’s crashing the stock market and effectively ending life as we know it for the foreseeable future ever since he finally accepted that it was, in fact, a hell of a lot more serious than the seasonal flu.

Unsurprisingly and in true Trump fashion, he’s been doing so by spreading a web of deceit, mistruths, and outright lies. Frankly, lying is what Donald has always done. As sad as it is to say, I don’t think anyone was much surprised that a deadly pandemic turned out to be no exception.

However, now it seems that Trump’s constant peddling of mistruths has turned deadly.

Trump has recently taken to touting the drug hydroxychloroquine, a common treatment for malaria in humans, as a treatment for the potentially fatal virus that’s thrown this entire nation into a panic — despite the fact that several professional entities, including the FDA and Dr. Fauci, have made it clear that the drug could not yet be cleared as a treatment for COVID-19 as it hasn’t been thoroughly tested.

And now, thanks to Trump’s ignorance and blatant irresponsibility, an Arizona woman in her 60s has now lost her husband and found herself deathly ill in the ICU after they attempted to follow the president’s advice and ingested an additive used in fash tanks, chloroquine phosphate.

Since the news of her husband’s death broke, the Arizona woman spoke with NBC News on the condition of anonymity and confirmed out worst fears — the desperate, terrified couple made the decision to ingest the toxic substance (which they believed to be the malaria drug Trump was touting) based solely off the president’s constant word.

“We were afraid of getting sick,” the woman told NBC News. “Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure.”

“What would be your message to the American public?” NBC asked.

“Oh my God. Don’t take anything. Don’t believe anything. Don’t believe anything that the President says & his people… Call your doctor, ” she answered in an emotional response. “This is a heartache I’ll never get over.”

We know these are terrifying times. But please, please do not take anything without consulting your doctor.
