Donald Trump told journalist Bob Woodward earlier this year that he was too busy to meet with our nation’s top infectious disease expert. And what’s interesting is that in a separate audio from April, Trump said he “just wasn’t” worried about contracting COVID-19, and then, of course, he contracted COVID-19. And now over two hundred and twenty thousand Americans have died from the coronavirus, the disease Trump failed to act promptly on when he first learned of the looming threat.
In March, Trump told journalist Woodward that he didn’t have much time to meet with Dr. Anthony Fauci about the coronavirus pandemic because “this is a busy White House,” according to a jaw-dropping new audio released by Woodward on CNN.
Trump can be heard saying, “[Fauci’s] sharp. And he’s doing a good job. He’s very dedicated.”
“Ever sat down alone with him?” Woodward asks the president.

“Yes, I guess, but honestly, there’s not a lot of time for that, Bob. It’s a busy White House,” Trump says. “This is a busy White house. We’ve got a lot of things happening. And then this came about. Look, we have the greatest economy on Earth. The greatest economy we’ve ever had. And in one day, this thing came in, and we had a choice to make. Close everything up and save potentially millions of lives, you know hundreds of thousands of lives. Or don’t do anything and watch, look at body bags every day being taken out of apartment buildings.”
“Who told you that?” Woodward asks”
“Me. I told me that,” Trump told Woodward.

Trump calls himself a “wartime president,” but he surrendered to the coronavirus without putting up a fight. Donald J. Trump refuses to listen to experts while Americans are still sheltering at home. And many people in the U.S. can’t see some of their family members due to the spreading disease. He won’t listen to anyone because he thinks he knows e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. How many have died since late March when Trump was too busy to meet with Dr. Fauci?
