Jack Smith Just Did What We’ve All Wanted To Do, Took Aim At Corrupt Clarence Thomas In Brutal Court Filing

It's about time!!!

Garland-appointed DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith just finally did what we’ve all been wanting to do, when he brutally fired back at Trump-sympathizing, scandal-plagued US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

As we’re all aware, Jack Smith was appointed as a Special Counsel for the US Department of Justice by Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland, to spearhead the DOJ’s investigations into scandal-ridden former President and Republican 2024 frontrunner, Donald Trump — a fact that Smith had to remind Thomas of in a fiery new court ruling, after Thomas attempted to use his SCOTUS position to go to bat for the disgraced ex-president.

Trump has, of course, long been fighting against these investigations into his alleged crimes with the claim that he has presidential immunity for all of the things, illegal or not, that he was involved in, during the course of his administration. Ultimately, Donald’s presidential immunity case was taken on by the United States High Court, which delivered an opinion on July 1st that ruled partial immunity from the various criminal charges lodged against Trump.

In that opinion ruling, Clarence Thomas used that opportunity to also go on the attack against Special Counsel Smith, attempting to poke holes in the legitimacy of Smith’s appointment by Garland, writing, “No former President has faced criminal prosecution for his acts while in office in the more than 200 years since the founding of our country.”

Thomas’ opinion continues, “And, that is so despite numerous past Presidents taking actions that many would argue constitute crimes. If this unprecedented prosecution is to proceed, it must be conducted by someone duly authorized to do so by the American people. The lower courts should thus answer these essential questions concerning the Special Counsel’s appointment before proceeding.”

In a response court filing by Special Counsel Smith that dropped yesterday, Jack took a clear-cut jab at the highly controversial Supreme Court Justice, pointedly noting that “the Attorney General is statutorily authorized to appoint a Special Counsel.”

The Supreme Court ruling on Trump’s immunity only served as ammo for Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon — who is presiding over Donald Trump’s stolen documents case — to further delay this case by pausing all deadlines while she determines whether or not more hearings should be held in relation to the SCOTUS immunity opinion.

Smith wrote in his filing: “The Government agrees to supplemental briefing on the immunity issue addressed in the Supreme Court’s opinion.”

Former U.S. Attorney Barb McQuade emailed a response regarding Smith’s filing to Newsweek, in which she wrote: “Jack Smith’s language is strong, and appropriately so, in pointing out that Justice Thomas ventured far out of his lane in opining on an issue that was not properly before the court. A concurring opinion in a case where an issue was not raised, briefed or argued has absolutely no legally binding effect on Judge Cannon, and Trump’s efforts to capitalize on it should be rejected.”

Special Counsel Smith has been the subject of high praise by multiple legal experts over his handling of the stolen documents case against Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Trump has been a staunch critic of Smith, regularly launching nasty attacks against the Special Counsel on his social media platform, calling Jack Smith “deranged.”
