Recently, we all watched on bated breath as former President Donald Trump was whisked off the stage with blood on his face by multiple Secret Service agents at his Butler, Pennsylvania campaign rally after several loud pops rang out through the crowd in what has now been dubbed an assassination attempt on a former United States POTUS.
Reports have confirmed that Donald Trump was grazed in his right ear by a bullet.
Multiple sources, including the Trump Campaign, the US Secret Service, and the ex-president himself have all confirmed that Donald Trump is shaken, but in unharmed condition.
Butler County District Attorney Richard A Goldinger has also confirmed that the shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was “neutralized” on the scene, and one rally attendee lost their life.

In the aftermath of the heinous attack, politicians from both sides of the aisle have worked to calm the waters of the country and vehemently speak out against political violence of any kind, while wishing the former president safety, peace, and a speedy recovery.
However, as expected, there have been a significant handful of Right-wing politicians who are already attempting to harness this horrifying event to further not only their own agendas but the MAGA agenda as a whole.
In the direct aftermath of the shooting, a co-statement was posted to the social media account of far-Right Utah Senator Mike Lee, said to have been co-authored with former U.S. National Security Advisor and Ambassador Robert O’Brien, calling on President Biden to “immediately drop” all criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, to allow the nation to “heal” from this attack:
We’ve got to take the political temperature down, as evidenced by what happened in Pennsylvania today. We call on President Biden to immediately order that all federal criminal charges against President Trump be dropped, and to ask the governors of New York and Georgia to do the same. Such a gesture would help heal wounds and allow all Americans to take a deep breath and reflect on how we got here. Our prayers are with the victims of the shooting, President Trump and our country.”
It certainly doesn’t come as any great surprise that the Right is attempting to use this horrifying event as what could literally serve as a “Get Out Of Jail Free” card for the scandal-plagued and felony-convicted former president.
Especially when you take into consideration that it’s coming from far-right-winger Mike Lee, who has used every opportunity available to him to call for Donald Trump to be left off scot-free, recently telling Fox News, “There’s so many instances of reversible error in this New York conviction that [Manhattan District Attorney Alvin] Bragg’s office and those who are handling this case on appeal could, and I believe, should confess error on appeal and walk away from the whole thing and leave it alone.”
