Judge’s Daughter In Trump’s Hush Money Trial Reportedly Received Death Threats After Ex-President’s Social Media Attack

The daughter of Judge Juan Merchan—yes, the same Judge overseeing Donald Trump’s hush money case—has been receiving death threats. Death threats. And this is all happening because Trump, on his platform Truth Social, went after her. He accused her of working for what he called a “super liberal Democrat firm” and even insinuated that Judge Merchan’s rulings were somehow biased because his daughter works in politics. Now, that’s a claim that’s not only absurd but extremely dangerous.

The consulting firm Loren Merchan works for—Authentic Campaigns—confirmed that she’s been advised by law enforcement to leave her home for her own safety. Let that sink in for a moment: we have a judge’s family being forced to flee their home because the former President of the United States has decided to drag her into his legal battles.

Let’s talk about what actually happened earlier this year. Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts—34 counts—related to falsifying business records, all tied to hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels right before the 2016 election. And this is the trial Judge Merchan has been presiding over. Trump, as we’ve seen before, didn’t take the conviction quietly. He lashed out, calling the trial “rigged,” saying the judge was “conflicted” and “corrupt.”

And now Trump’s legal team has tried multiple times to have Judge Merchan removed from the case because of his daughter’s political work. Let’s be crystal clear here: according to her employer, Loren Merchan had minimal contact with political clients in this election cycle and has no financial stake in any outcome of Trump’s legal proceedings.

Earlier this week, Judge Merchan made a decision. He rejected Trump’s team’s bid to have him removed from the case. Why? Because their claims were full of inaccuracies and simply not substantiated. He’s sticking to the facts. Something Trump’s team is, shall we say, not always so committed to.

Oh, and one last thing: Trump’s lawyers are still trying to throw a legal Hail Mary by arguing that Trump, as a former president, should have immunity from this prosecution. Judge Merchan will rule on that claim in September. And if things stay on track, sentencing for Trump is scheduled for September 18.

This is where we are, folks.
