Ever since Vice President Kamala Harris replaced President Joe Biden in the 2024 election race, she has been rapidly gaining ground in the polls. As of now, her lead appears solid, a troubling sign for Trump’s team, who worry that his lack of focus on real issues affecting Americans is costing him support. While this shift is good news for his opponents, itā€™s causing growing frustration among former Trump voters.

Some of these supporters have reportedly begun leaving his rallies before he finishes speaking. His long, rambling speeches have sparked complaints even from within his own MAGA base. These unfocused rants are being blamed for his declining poll numbers, with Harris continuing to pull ahead.

Jenny, one attendee, was interviewed as she exited early.

ā€œHe reminded me why Iā€™m not voting for him this time. I voted for him in 2016 and even had a Trump flag in the front yard. In 2020, I voted for him again but didnā€™t put the flag out. Iā€™ve been considering voting for him again because Bidenā€™s been terrible for the economy, and Kamala wonā€™t be any better. But after listening to that, Iā€™m actually afraid of Trump being president again. I didnā€™t understand half of what he was saying. Maybe he was always like this, but now he seems worseā€”more unstable.ā€

MSNBCā€™s Katie Phang took it a step further, recalling moments when Trump rambled during Fox News call-ins or even accidentally face-dialed his own phone on air. At times, even his loyal outletsā€”Fox News and Newsmaxā€”have had to cut him off mid-speech.

As the race to November heats up, Donald Trump faces slim chances to revive his campaign, particularly with the upcoming September 10 debate against Kamala Harris on ABC News. His refusal to participate has left his staff anxious, as skipping the debate could deliver a fatal blow to his White House prospects.

The shifting dynamics between Trump and Harris continue to expose deeper cracks in Trumpā€™s once-loyal base. His erratic speeches and lack of focus are driving supporters away, leading many to reconsider their allegiance. With more voters voicing concerns, the key question remains: can Trump regain control of his message in time to turn the tide, or will his own words keep alienating the very people he once rallied? As Harris gains momentum, the stakes for Trumpā€™s campaign have never been higherā€”or more precarious.
