Georgia GOP Rep Offers His Prayers For The Victims Of Georgia High School Tragedy, Instantly Gets Owned

Another day, another four innocent lives lost in a school shooting. And of course, another pro-gun Republican offering “thoughts and prayers,” in Georgia, where the shootings occurred. This time it’s Rep. Mike Collins, who was shown earlier in a campaign video armed with an Ar-15-style assault weapon.

“Leigh Ann and I are praying for the victims, their families, and all students at Apalachee High School in Barrow County.”

“We extend our gratitude to law enforcement for their swift action to secure the school and get the shooter in custody.”

“I have spoken with Sheriff Smith and told him my team and I are available to assist in any way necessary. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as prudent.”

I’m sure that’s not comforting to the families of the victims. Republicans are always offering “thoughts and prayers” while suppressing any meaningful legislation to address gun violence. What’s especially revolting about Collins’ video is that he uses the rifle to blow away a trash can while claiming the 2020 election was fraudulent. He describes himself as a “Pro-Trump America trucker,” so yeah, he’s that kind of nutter.

He goes on to attack President Joe Biden who was in Georgia the day before “to talk about our elections. It seems that he and Kamala Harris called anyone who disagreed with the federal hijacking of this election a racist.”

“Well, Joe,” he says, “Let me tell you what Georgians really believe.”

Then he soldiers on, spewing the usual misinformation about the so-called fraudulent election.

“First of all, you count the legal votes that were cast in the state of Georgia. Donald Trump won this state, period.”

His comments were, of course, fact-free. He offered nothing to back up his remarks. Now ain’t that just like a Republican? It’s what they do. And of course, he wants to “get rid of those voting machines.” He said he wants to go back to paper ballots.

That’s probably the only thing he’s said that made any sense. I also think we should go back to using paper ballots. I could be wrong, but I think there’s less chance for mistakes. Collins uses one iota of logic and then goes on with a bunch of untrue and completely debunked blather about Democrats stealing elections.

“Georgians are sick and tired of weak-kneed, spineless politicians who won’t fight for Trump, get to the bottom of 2020, and fix our elections.”

“Well if they won’t do it, Mike Collins will,” he says. To make things even more ridiculous, he raises his death machine, killer of little kids, women, and elderly people everywhere, and blows away what looks like a trash can.

That’ll teach them consarned Democrats. Who are concerned with making America a safer place and understand that “thoughts and prayers,” isn’t going to do it.

And, you see, the reason we know prayers don’t work is this: In 2023 alone, there were 656 mass shootings and 40 mass murders, according to the Gun Violence Archive. That may not sound like much, but when you compare it to 2014, there were 272 mass shootings and 17 mass murders. That’s quite a jump.

As you might expect, the X faithful had thoughts on Collins’s violent rhetoric. First, however, I’m going to offer up his Democratic opponent, Lexy Doherty, who clearly needs to beat him.

“Mike Collins is pro-election lies, pro-gun, anti-family and anti-democracy,” wrote @slayer_agolf.

And quite conveniently, Collins also owns a gun store.

So all I can say to those who, like Collins, who want Donald Trump to win is this: Thoughts and prayers, duderinos, thoughts and prayers.
