During a rally in Sparta, Michigan today, JD Vance challenged a would-be assassin to walk into the room he was in, while surrounded by “close to 500 patriots.”

The challenge follows reports of a second alleged attempt to assassinate Trump over the weekend. A man armed with an AK-47, a scope, two backpacks, ceramic tiling, and a GoPro hid in the bushes surrounding Trump International Golf Course for over 12 hours on Sunday.

As Trump golfed, a Secret Service agent spotted a rifle barrel sticking out of the bushes and fired several shots, causing the suspect to flee. Trump was 400 to 500 yards away and within range, but the shooter didn’t have a clear shot. The suspect’s car was photographed by a witness, leading to his arrest by the Martin County Sheriffā€™s Office.

Before the incident during the Trump Harris debate last week, Trump began to blame the Biden administration for the first assassination attempt months ago.

“I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me.”

Since then, others have put gasoline on the fire, suggesting that Biden and Harris be targeted, such as MAGA-loyalist Elon Musk.

He has since deleted the Tweet and blamed not knowing how to make jokes on social media. Yesterday, JD Vance suggested a similar argument, blaming the left for rhetoric “that’s gonna get somebody hurt.”

Regarding his challenge in Michigan, commenters blasted Vance.

So much for toning down the rhetoric!

Another flipped the script on Vance for saying that school shootings were a fact of life, after a mass shooting in Georgia.

One comment even pointed to the crowd size which is something Trump is always obsessed about.

JD Vanceā€™s daring challenge in Michigan has stirred up quite a bit of backlash. After two alleged assassination attempts on Trump, Vanceā€™s comments came off as reckless to many. Some are saying he’s just inviting trouble.

With high-profile figures like Vance and even Elon Musk throwing around fiery rhetoric, people are questioning how far this will go. As one person bluntly put it, ā€œAll heā€™s doing is daring some nut job out there.ā€ In a climate already on edge, statements like these only seem to add more fuel to the fire.
