Social Media Wonders If Elon Musk Was Getting Flirty With Ivanka Trump After Commenting On Her Photo

Elon Musk raised eyebrows for a comment on Ivanka Trump's wardrobe.

No, it’s not the creepiest thing Elon Musk has ever posted on social media. He joked last fall about wanting to father a child with Taylor Swift, leading his estranged daughter to describe Musk as a “heinous incel.” Musk has amplified more than his share of political extremism, even before he gave what may or may not have been a Nazi salute on Donald Trump’s inauguration day.

Still, Musk’s comments about Ivanka Trump’s attire on Inauguration Day have raised some eyebrows.

The president’s daughter, on the day after the inauguration, posted a photo of herself in an Audrey Hepburn-inspired gown, to which Musk replied, “Making fashion beautiful again.”

One reply guy tagged Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, with the statement “watch out.”

Other replies were a bit less Musk-friendly:

Musk wasn’t the only one who commented on Ivanka’s gown. The son of Audrey Hepburn, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, commented as well.

“It is no wonder that growing up in a family which knew our mother as a household name she chose to draw inspiration from her,” Ferrer told The Daily Mail. “To seek the ultimate elegance and class reference for an occasion such as this one — the inauguration and the 32nd anniversary of our mother’s passing and, most of all, Martin Luther King’s day. What a cocktail!”

However, Hello! magazine had another view of the gown choice: It fits a pattern of Ivanka copying Meghan Markle’s fashion choices. Not only are both the First Daughter and the Duchess of Sussex the same age, but Markle also interviewed Ivanka for her fashion blog in 2014.

“The mother-of-two has an unlikely fan of her wardrobe it seems – none other than President Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka. The pair, both 43, love high-end labels and often pick tailored, classic designs when dressing for an event.”

Ivanka and her husband, Jared, had both served as official White House advisers during Trump’s first presidency, but neither returned, either for the campaign or to the White House this year.
