Trump Insists He Doesn’t ‘Ramble’ When He Speaks, Claims He’s A ‘Weaver’

He's not a rambler. He's a "weaver." Sure he is.

President Donald Trump would like all of us to know that he doesn’t ramble or go off-topic when he talks. Instead, he told Fox News anchor Bret Baier that he’s a “weaver.” Then he demonstrated this by rambling after being questioned about how he will handle foreign policy, somehow finding room to claim, once again, that the 2020 election was “stolen.” Then, he explained his communication strategy.

In a 45-second exchange with Baier, he found time to complain about the last election, the 2023 Israel terror attacks, Iran’s funding of terrorism, and one of his favorite topics — “Fake news.”

After all, what good is an interview if you can’t beat your favorite dead horse?

And it all went down like this, according to Mediaite:

TRUMP: If the election weren’t rigged, this would have never happened. And let’s see whether or not Fox lets you put that in. Okay? The election was rigged. You hear me? Rigged. Let’s see. I mean, it would have. This would have never happened. It wouldn’t happened with Putin. And October 7th would have never happened, either. Iran was broke. They were down to their last minimal amount of money. Now, they have $350 billion, but they have other problems. And, you know, let’s go back over there because I’m the weaver. I’m the great weaver. You know that.

BAIER: Trust me.

TRUMP: Okay? I’m the great weaver.

BAIER: I get it.

TRUMP: Somebody said, Oh, he rambled, No, no. Only the fake news says that. To weave, you have to be brilliant to ramble, you don’t have to be brilliant at all.

BAIER: I’ll just get back in the weave thing. Had to get your back there.

TRUMP: But I like the weave because it covers a lot of territory, and it covers it much more quickly.

Of course, to weave anything, you have to provide the threads that support it, which, in this case, includes evidence. As is typical, Trump’s statements are evidence-free. He’s merely being boastful here because this man will always blow his own horn.

Trump is similar to Benito Mussolini, the Italian prime minister who portrayed himself as “a man of the people” and promoted the “March of the Iron Will”  to capture Ethiopia.

Trump, of course, is seemingly attempting to “capture” Greenland — one of the most embarrassing debacles he’s attempted. And believe me, there have been many such debacles.

Instances like this never seem to stop Trump, and he was feeling boastful during the rest of his interview with Baier, further describing his “weave” at a campaign rally last year:

“You know, I do the weave. You know what the weave is? I’ll talk about, like, nine different things, and they all come back brilliantly together,” he said. “And it’s like — and friends of mine that are, like, English professors, they say, it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen. But the fake news, you know what they say? He rambled. That’s not rambling. When you have — what you do is you get off a subject to mention another little tidbit, then you get back onto the subject. And you go through this, and you do it for two hours, and you don’t even mispronounce one word.”

The brag is heavy with this one. Who are these “English professors” who think he’s so brilliant? Anyone who listens to this president knows the man can’t get through a paragraph without going off-road. If Trump’s speeches were a road map we’d all be lost.

Now that he’s president again, that’s precisely what we are: lost.
