Trump Goes Into Rageful Rant, Slams MSNBC’s Tariff Coverage

The president accused MSNBC of "election interference."

Donald Trump appears to be under the mistaken impression that media reports that are negative towards him are somehow illegal or at least subject to lawsuits. He has already sued CBS over a supposedly “edited” 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris.

The president has accused another network he hates, MSNBC, of a “Major Campaign Violation.” However, it’s not clear what “campaign” he’s referring to since no election is currently ongoing, and Trump can’t run again anyway.

“MSNBC, the worst there is on Television misrepresentation, is so far knowingly off in their statements about me and Tariffs that it should be considered a Major Campaign Violation,” Trump said on Truth Social on Friday morning.

“They are nothing less than an arm of the Democrat National Committee, and their untruths are incredible, real losers. Their ratings are down the tubes, but that pressure on them doesn’t.”

It’s not clear exactly what segment Trump was complaining about, although he was apparently still watching MSNBC two hours later when he ripped network host Stephanie Ruehle as “exhausted” and “highly neurotic” and accused her of “LIES about Tariffs.”

In between, Trump did some other media criticism on Truth Social, recommending that Rupert Murdoch move Keith Poole, the editor of the New York Post, over to run the Wall Street Journal.

Mediaite reported that Trump seemed to be reacting to Friday’s broadcast of Morning Joe on MSNBC.

“With Donald Trump, I still believe it’s all showbiz. It’s all symbolism,” Joe Scarborough, the show’s host, said this morning. “It’s getting to where he wants to get, whether it’s a month from now, two months from now, or six months from now.”

” I just don’t think the details right now matter, especially if you look back six months from now. This is the start of a symbolic process. That’s my take on it. So people that are like getting into minutia and freaking out, I mean, I don’t know where they’ve been since 2017.”

Ruhle, who Trump bashed later in the day, also appeared on the Morning Joe segment, although Trump’s criticism of her landed hours later.

“Few people know Stephanie Ruhle, but I do, and she doesn’t have what it takes,” Trump added in the Truth Social post.
