Donald Trump has faced many questions, including from his loyalists and others in his party, over the announcement that he will accept a $400 million plane from Qatar, which is meant to serve as the new Air Force One.
On Wednesday, an NBC News reporter confronted Trump about it and threatened to investigate the company that owns NBC.
Per Deadline, reporter Peter Alexander of NBC News questioned Trump about the jet in the Oval Office on Wednesday, when Trump appeared with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Trump reacted somewhat angrily.
“You know, you ought to get out of here. What does this have to do with the Qatari jet? They are giving the United States Air Force a jet, OK? And it’s a great thing. We’re talking about many other things, and it is NBC trying to get off the subject of what you just saw,” Trump said to Alexander. It is far from rare for a reporter to ask a president about something not related to the purpose of the event that he’s hosting.

“You are a terrible reporter. Number one, you don’t have what it takes to be a reporter. You are not smart enough. But for you to go on to a subject about a jet that was given to the United States Air Force, which is a very nice thing,” Trump continued.
Trump threatened to investigate Comcast, presumably about a reporter they employed asking questions.
“You ought to go back to your studio at NBC because Brian Roberts and the people that run that place ought to be investigated,” Trump said, referring to the CEO of Comcast, which owns NBC. “They are so terrible the way you run that network. And you are a disgrace. No more questions from you.”
In April, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr also threatened to investigate Comcast over NBC’s news coverage.
