Unhinged Trump Goes On Rant, Tries To Blame Biden For Colorado Attack

It's always someone else's fault

On Sunday, a terrible attack happened in Boulder, Colorado. A 45-year-old man named Mohamed Sabry Soliman was arrested after he reportedly used a homemade flamethrower on a group of protesters. The people were protesting to support hostages taken from Israel during the October 7, 2023 attacks.

The next day, President Donald Trump spoke about the attack. However, rather than discussing the victims, he used the moment to promote his political message. He went after immigration and blamed former President Joe Biden.

Soliman shouted “Free Palestine” during the incident, and eight people were hurt — some of them older adults. He was charged the next day with a federal hate crime. The Department of Justice called it a “needless act of violence.”

But Trump had a different focus. In a post on Truth Social, he blamed Biden and the immigration system. “Yesterday’s horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America,” Trump wrote. “He came in through Biden’s ridiculous Open Border Policy, which has hurt our Country so badly. He must go out under ‘TRUMP’ Policy.”

Then Trump added, “This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland.”

But here’s the truth: Soliman was reportedly an Egyptian national who overstayed a visa. Some reports claim he received a work permit during Biden’s term, but law enforcement has not confirmed these details as of now.

Trump’s top adviser, Stephen Miller, also jumped in. He posted on X that the attack proves what he calls “suicidal migration” must end.

Miller has been criticized before for promoting racist ideas, including the false claim that immigrants are trying to replace white Americans. His latest comment seemed to carry the same message.

Others in the GOP quickly followed Trump’s lead. House Speaker Mike Johnson blamed Biden directly, writing on X, “This act of terror could have been prevented, but Biden made a mockery of our national security, and America is paying the price for his failures.”

Senator Jim Banks used the moment to push Trump’s controversial tax and immigration bill, known as the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Banks wrote, “Voters gave Donald Trump mandate for mass deportation of illegals like this one,” but said Democrats and federal courts were standing in the way.

He bragged that the bill includes $14 billion for deportation and $50 billion to build a wall. The House has passed the bill, but its future in the Senate remains uncertain.

Many Americans are shocked that Trump and other Republican leaders are using a sad and violent moment to push politics. While some leaders, even those who have spoken out against Israel’s war in Gaza, quickly spoke out and called the attack antisemitic, Trump used it to bring back his usual message — fear of immigrants, building more walls, and taking away people’s legal rights.

But the truth matters. People overstaying visas has happened for years under both Republican and Democratic presidents. Trying to deport people without giving them a fair legal process goes against the Constitution. Still, Trump and his team continue to ignore that. This isn’t really about justice. Their goal is power.
